ACCPAC Announces Worldwide Agreement with IBM to Deliver DB2 Universal Database to Small and Mid-size Customers - 2003/02/5

PLEASANTON, CA, February 5, 2003 - ACCPAC International, Inc., a subsidiary of Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA), announced today an agreement whereby ACCPAC will distribute IBM’s DB2 Universal Database as a standard component of its ACCPAC Advantage Series accounting software and other end-to-end business management applications.

ACCPAC Advantage Series and ACCPAC Pro Series are designed to address the accounting needs of small and mid-size businesses. Both serve as a foundation for ACCPAC’s integrated suite of end-to-end business management applications. ACCPAC will begin offering DB2 immediately with ACCPAC Advantage Series 5.1 Enterprise, Corporate, Small Business, and Discovery Editions. The offering will include the DB2 database and 3 user licenses, with the ability to purchase additional licenses from ACCPAC.

Among its many features are self-configuring, self-optimizing and self-managing capabilities, new federated capabilities that enable customers to integrate information as Web Services, and sophisticated Business Intelligence capabilities that allow customers to easily organize stored information to perform faster and more insightful queries.

ACCPAC Advantage Series is a modular suite of accounting applications that can be accessed via a web browser, a wireless device, or a traditional desktop computer. Advantage Series is highly customizable, designed to scale as a company grows, and is a foundation for ACCPAC’s end-to-end business management applications including CRM, e-commerce, point-of-sale, human resources, and warehouse management. Advantage Series runs on Microsoft, Novell and Linux-based operating systems, and supports IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Pervasive P.SQL 2000 databases.
